When the New York Quarterly went on hiatus in 2009, there were hundreds of poems that had been accepted but not published. Many of these were still backlogged from the days of William Packard as editor and included poems backlogged during several hiatus during his tenure. While all contracts have expired by now and many of you either withdrew your poems or went ahead and published them elsewhere, we still want to honor those poems that were accepted and never published in another journal with publication in a special issue of NYQ including only Vintage Poems from this era.

Because we have lost touch or you have moved and we do not know the status of your poem(s), we have established the Vintage Poem Review on Submittable. This review is free. You will answer a few simple questions and enter your current contact information, and we will review the poem(s) for the Vintage Poems issue. While this review is mainly pro forma, we do reserve the right to refuse a request without cause. Just follow these steps below.

Step 1 -- Is it in our database?

Enter your last name in the search box below to find out what poems are on file and recorded as being previously accepted for publication, but have not been published.

Search for Vintage Poems by Last Name

Step 2 -- What's next?

GREEN

Your poems are listed beside your name and the box is green. Proceed using the following free link to Submittable to submit your poem(s) for review here: Vintage Poem Review

RED

In place of your poems being listed, it says "No results found. See Below." and the box is red. There are a couple options:

1. The poem was published in NYQ prior to the hiatus. Please check our database at NYQ Poets of all published material.

2. The poem does not show up in either database, but you have documentation of acceptance and the poem itself. Please submit the poem(s) for review on Submittable (it is free) here: Vintage Poem Review
