12/09/2007

For the fourth consecutive year, a pair of writers, Ken Waldman and Jim Clark, will be co-producing a show of writers who play music at the annual AWP (Associated Writing Programs) Conference. This year the conference will be held in New York City, and on Thursday, January 31, 13 writer/musicians will assemble from 8:15 to 1 a.m. for an evening of North Americana music at the cabaret Don't Tell Mama, on West 43rd Street.

The writers:

Marck Beggs from Arkansas, Mike Dockins from Georgia, Brandon Cesmat from California, M.L.Liebler from Michigan, Jim Clark from North Carolina, Bruce Piephoff from North Carolina, Will JenningsCraig Wright from Oregon, Jen McClung from Pennsylvania, Doug Van Gundy from West Virginia, Ken Waldman from Alaska, Greg Spatz from Washington, and Bob Bradley from Tennessee.

Expect a few special guests, and lots of talents--most everyone has books and/or CDs, and credentials include appearances on major festival and concert series stages, as well as appearances on the lists of a wide range of publishers.

For more information, contact Ken Waldman or Jim Clark, or come see them at The Nomadic press table at the AWP Bookfair (bookfair will be at the conference hotel, The Hilton, at Avenue of Americas and W. 53rd Street).
