07/01/2009
With the publication of Soldier in the Grass by Joanna Crispi, NYQ has fully launched its imprint, NYQ Books™. A longtime vision of both William Packard and subsequently Raymond Hammond, NYQ Books™ has been made possible by both an expanding NYQ Foundation and technology.

NYQ Books™ will feature mainly poets from within the magazine's pages but will also feature a growing availablility of William Packard's writings over time. Titles that will soon be realeased include books by Ira Joe fisher, Ted Jonathan, Fred Yannantuono, Amanda J. Bradley, Tony Quagliano, Grace Zabriskie, Douglas Treem, Kevin Pilkington and many more.

Ironically we begin the program with a novel, Soldier in the Grass by Joanna Crispi. This is the last book that William Packard edited, who wrote: "What an overwhelmingly heartfelt powerful story this is—heroic episodic Saga which records the dreadful ordeal of realization of two lost and lonely souls who find each other in the blazing heat of Africa as they journey towards their ultimate destination."
